The history of “Ligopsychakis” handmade sandals company begins in 1945, when grandfather Nikolas Ligopsychakis started his apprenticeship as a shoemaker, which later led to his opening his own shoe repair store in Platanos, Kissamos.

In 1970, his son Babis got involved with the business, to be later followed by the third generation of shoemakers: the two grandchildren, Nikos and Yiannis –sons of Babis Ligopsychakis –, started working as assistants and apprentices, while completing their studies, until 2001 when they started their own business under the brand name “Nikos Shoes”.

Their love for tradition and their passion for their trade is the driving force behind the tireless eff orts of the two brothers to continue manufacturing Greek
handmade sandals to this day!
